Hatton / Nallathanniya
A striking natural landmark in Sri Lanka which cannot be missed, is the Adam’s Peak known as Sri Pada meaning ‘the sacred foot print’. The fifth highest peak in Sri Lanka with a rich fascinating history is held as a sacred place of pilgrimage by all ethnic communities in Sri Lanka. A crafted footprint which is 1.8m (5ft 11in) in rock formation near the summit is held as the foot print of Lord Buddha by the Buddhists. Ascend the mount in the night to reach the summit by dawn to experience the extraordinary view free from clouds and the enigmatic shadow of the peak which will leave first time visitors spell bound.
We will pick you up from Hatton at 3.30PM and will transfer to Nallathanniya trail head by an air conditioned vehicle. On the way if you wish we will give a chance to captured the nice scenery of the tea plantation and mountains. As the tradition you can have a shower at Seetha Gangula before you start the hiking. Once you refresh yourself will offer you can taste a warm cup of tea or coffee at a shop nearby. Thereafter you will be given brief description regarding the route by the guide and start hiking at 6.30pm.Rest stops within every 1.5KM.Dinner at near shop. We planned to reach summit by 1AM. One you are there engages the ritual according the tradition. Resting time with refreshment. Witness the Moment Of Sunrise From Top Of Adams Peak. On completion start to climbing down via Murray State route by 6.30AM.After refresh yourself and enjoy the breakfast proceed to visit water falls.
On completion the tour you will back to Hatton.
